Practical Applications of:
Integrated Reservoir Characterization, Modelling and Visualization
Level: UOGC 101 Introductory Level
Length of Course: 1 day (9:30 am to 11:45am; 1:15 to 4:15pm)
Format: Seminar
Prerequisite: None
Objectives:
Clients will be introduced to the state of the art geostatistically based process of 3D and 4D model building. The process provides the user with interactive 3D maps of oil & gas reservoirs. Team members are thus empowered to evaluate current and future drilling, completion, field optimization, divestiture and/or acquisition operations in an effective and timely manner. Asset teams within oil & gas companies increase profit by reducing cycle time, reducing potential errors and reducing drilling operation costs. Profitability increases by effective placement of vertical and horizontal wells in the sweet spots of the reservoirs and reacting to newly acquired data. The improved process and 4D integration within a computer network environment will facilitate the flow of critical reservoir and drilling information. United’s proprietary software, S.M.A.R.T. 4D Modellingâ, a PC based mapping and visualization tool, will be used throughout this seminar.
Target Audience:
Petroleum professionals in any, or all areas of: geology, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir engineering, drilling, production, land, divestiture and acquisition, as well as management.
